Cheat Canyon Guidebook

Cheat Canyon in West Virginia is a rock climbing destination offering a wide variety of climbing styles and difficulties. Located near the town of Albright, the canyon features over 500 established climbing routes on high-quality sandstone cliffs that line the Cheat River.

The climbing routes in Cheat Canyon range from beginner-friendly to highly challenging, accommodating climbers of all skill levels. The area is particularly known for its excellent crack climbing, with numerous routes featuring challenging and varied crack systems. Many of the routes are also well-bolted, providing sport climbing opportunities.

This guidebook includes all of the areas in Cheat Canyon as well as sections of Coopers Rock.
